FORMATTING
-
Resolution: 400 dpi recommended (but no less than 300 dpi)

CMYK for color pages

Grayscale for black & white pages

Trim Size: 5x7.5 inches (mini) or 6.625x10.25 (standard)

Bleed: Add .125 to each side of the page

Bleed Size on Mini: 5.25x7.75

Bleed Size on Standard: 6.875x10.5

Art on a full bleed page should go to the edge of the bleed measurement and past the trim

Text and important elements should be a half inch from the trim

Double Page Spread: Send as either two separate page files or as one full image

Text: 100% black text (make sure that text does not contain C, M, or Y)

Ink Coverage: 220 or less (no part of the page should contain over 220 CMYK out of a possible 400)

Coloring: Overly dark pages, dark text in a dark balloon/box, low contrast imagery will not print properly.

File format: Individual files (TIFF or Print-Ready PDF if fonts are embedded)

File labeling: cover; backcover; insidefrontcover; insidebackcover; page01; page02; page10; etc..

Files that are not properly formatted to the above specs will be rejected and will need to be revised.
PREPRESS SERVICES
For just $5 per page, we can prepare your files so they print perfectly on newsprint. All you need to do is have the page files properly sized (see above in "FORMATTING") and in the proper resolution (400 dpi recommended, no less than 300 dpi) and we'll take care of the rest.
SHIPPING
Shipping is estimated to cost $10 per 25-75 copies of your comic; $20 per 76-150 copies; $30 for 200 copies (shipping in the US). We can ship internationally as well, but the cost will be more expensive than shipping within the US. Orders will be packed securely with packing material and sturdy boxes.
A production estimate will be provided with your quote. Please keep in mind that projects are printed on a first come first serve basis and we do not offer rush services. As long as files are print-ready, a digital proof will be emailed within 2-3 business days. Once a proof is approved, the minimum turnaround time on the average print run is at least 3-4 weeks but depending on your place in the production queue, the wait time may be significantly longer. We ask that you please plan accordingly. Thank you.
