My advice is to consider your options when are closer to finishing your book. (I'm assuming you are still in early stages) You don't have to use crowdfunding but I would strongly recommend it. As a new writer/artist, nobody knows you or your work. You have to stick your neck out and take those risks or nobody will take notice. With crowdfunding also comes other things like starting a YouTube channel (now there's also Odysee and BitChute) to drum up interest and promoting your work on other channels. These are kind of scary things to start but worth it in the end for most. Forget about the CG drama. It's just not worth it to even give a crap. Anyone trying to tell you to be CG or Not CG is not interested in your work. If you still don't want to crowdfund, then I don't see many other options besides these. (I've never made a book so I'm no expert) find a small indie publisher that's willing to publish your work or print them for you. finish your books, print them on your own dime, and try to sell them online somewhere. Both of those options are still going to require to put work in and promote yourself.
