My next commission was a wonderful homage of a the family member of a reader in the likeness of Count Strahd on the balcony of Castle Ravenloft overlooking Barovia, based on a specific painting shared with me by the reader.
I am painfully ignorant about Dungeons & Dragons lore so this piece is a terrific education. You can see my main goal when we start is to get the perspective right, then layout the major shapes. Because Count Strahd is meant to have the likeness of a specific person I made the facial features the first major point of detail so I could get the reader's feedback before going into inks.

Here I've started to pick my inks.

Some vines to add to the overgrown and ancient mystique of Castle Ravenloft!

Oops! Forgot to post the final version! Here's the Count in all his dark glory.
