I enjoy Alterna very much! Been into their books since like 2015. First book I read was the Chair. I love everything about that book. Then, my other favorite is Blood Realm! Also enjoy Red Koi, Downcast, Mighty Mascots, It Came out on a Wednesday, XII...
I just love the books being released on newsprint! I feel colors are more deep on the old school paper. Too many books today are just too soft and shiney on gloss paper. Newsprint gives the books more grit.
I think Pete is our new Stan Lee! He connects with fans and gets us to meet the creators of books released on Alterna via his youtube channel. It's a great connection for us fans who like getting an in-depth look regarding characters and the book creating processes.
I feel I'm part of something great reading Alterna Books. It's all very exciting for me as a comic book lover!
I don't say I'm a comic collector, but a comic reader. I'm not uptight over book grades. I enjoy searching for classic books from the 70s-90s at flea markets and antique stores. The only publisher I get the most new books from are from Alterna. I like that I can order directly via the website and now crowd funding.
Other interests: Horror films--especially from the Universal Monsters era up to the 80s. Independent horror films are fun, too. Plus music--mainly hard rock, grunge and metal: but also like a lot of pop/dance from the 70s-90s...also enjoy classic Saturday morning cartoons plus Anime like Death Note, Soul Eater and Golgo 13! Also into action figures and vinyl records...
