'Jesus Hates Zombies' Rises This Easter!

Levittown, NY – February 7th, 2008 - Alterna Comics is pleased to announce that Jesus Hates Zombies: Those Slack-Jaw Blues, from up-and-coming writer/creator Stephen Lindsay and a slew of phenomenally talented artists, has exceeded all expectations at the distributor level!

Publisher Peter Simeti states, “At first this may not seem like a big deal, but for an independent it’s a validating experience. Given that the title carries a $14.95 price tag (the equivalent of 5 standard $3.00 issues) it really means a lot to us that the retailers and readers wanted to purchase this book.  We hope they enjoy reading every page of it!”

Introducing a zombie-slaying Jesus Christ, the soft-cover graphic novel features an anthology of stories featuring Jesus and his zombie pal Lazarus.

“Think of the book as ‘Batman: Black and White’ but with JC instead of Bats!” proclaims Simeti.

Summary:
No one is certain what caused it, but in only 6 days, a zombie plague swept over the Earth, consuming over 29/37ths of the world's population... Disgusted by the sight of the walking dead devouring His precious creation, God has sent back His only Son to once again set right the wrongs of the world.  But this time there's no room to turn the other cheek. This time, the message isn't one of love and compassion. This time, the J-Man is looking to unleash some Wrath of God, because this time...JESUS HATES ZOMBIES!

...Frank Miller, Erik Larsen, Doug TenNapel (those are just off the top of my head). All of these

Levittown, NY - June 23rd, 2008 - Alterna Comics and H.C. Noel are pleased to announce the debut of the graphic novel, MR. SCOOTLES.

Created years ago by H.C. Noel, MR. SCOOTLES first made its small press debut as self-published single issues. Now collecting issues
1 through 5 - the 160 page book contains a very unique artistic premise.

The first 70% of the book is in black and white, grayscaled art.  The last 30% however is in full-color as Mr. Scootles makes the leap from
his world to ours.

First published by Alterna Comics as part of their digital line-up, MR. SCOOTLES has shown that it has the potential to be a hit with the
masses.  A small cult-following has grown for the book and creator H.C. Noel couldn't be more happy finally release his project in its
entire form. When asked about how he felt in regards to MR. SCOOTLES' debut in September Previews, H.C. had this to say, "This has
been one of my goals since creating Mr. Scootles. I just want to thank Alterna and Peter for believing in me and my story."

The following is a short summary of the book's premise: Jason and Kelly, both students at Drumheller Art Institute, find an old film reel of
a forgotten cartoon character, Mr. Scootles. Before committing suicide, Mr. Scootle's creator, Weston Lang Jr., placed a curse upon the
film reel and himself. Now, as the two friends watch the old filmstrip, Mr. Scootles awakens in Purgatory.

Alterna Titles among few on Amazon's Kindle!

Levittown, NY - June 30th, 2008 -
Amazon's Kindle, the handheld e-book reader, now has five new titles to add to its long list of quality e-book reads.  BIRTH, JESUS HATES ZOMBIES: THOSE SLACK-JAW BLUES, FORMERA VOL.1, MORBID MYTHS VOL.1, AND NOVO VOL.1. These titles are now available for purchase on the Kindle!  Only a short list of about 50 comic titles are on the Kindle at this time, as most publishers and Kindle users are seemingly unaware of the graphic capabilities that the Kindle possesses.

Manny Burgos, a graphic artist that has written two ebooks on the subject of Kindle graphics, wrote a review on BIRTH regarding his reading experience on the Kindle, "
I've worked with MANY different artists in the past few months helping them improve their images on the Kindle, and I have to stay that this is the BEST artwork I've ever seen on this device. ALTERNA COMICS should take a bow for taking the chance to be the FIRST graphic novel available on the Kindle, and for releasing such a well-done publication as the first of their many future Kindle ebooks. Their example should inspire and motivate other indie comic creators to follow suit and explore this emerging method of publication and delivery." The rest of his review can be seen on the BIRTH product link listed below.

You can download BIRTH here.
You can download JESUS HATES ZOMBIES here.

You can download FORMERA VOL.1 here.

You can download MORBID MYTHS VOL.1 here.

You can download NOVO VOL.1 here.

Alterna Comics printed titles are available for purchase on Amazon.com as well.
